How long did it take before you noticed that the Cosequin was possibly helping your kitty? We picked some up last week, so it's been about four days or so of use. The cortisone shot didn't work at all, she's still peeing everywhere, and meowing a lot, and straining.
I have a call in to the vet to see what he thinks we should do next, although he hasn't been able to fix her yet, so I'm starting to wonder why the he!l I keep asking his opinion. (I know it's not his fault, I'm just frustrated.)

Re: *KatiesCats*
Ugh; I'm really sorry. I'm not really sure when/if the Cosequin started helping. Max responded really well to the Ace and Tramadol, and we started Cosequin at the same time. They all seemed to work together, and he's been maintaining pretty well on the Cosequin.
We know that a time will come when his episodes won't be manageable anymore, and he'll be miserable more than he'll be happy. I'm so sorry about the situation you're in and I really hope you're able to find something that really helps her. I wish I had more/better advice

This is what I'm worried about the most. The vet basically acted like if this didn't work, and the pain meds didn't seem to help anymore, and the fluoxetine wasn't helping, that there wasn't anything else that could be done.
And I don't want her to be in pain. It's not even about the pee. Everything she pees on can be washed--we don't have any carpet in the house, because of her, so that's not really the issue. I just know she's in pain.
This sucks.
Thanks for all your info/support during this. I really appreciate it.

The vets at OSU are like the world's greatest experts on FIC and have done tons of research on it. If you're up for the drive, you might see if you can get her seen here. They were super helpful with Max. Also, then we could hang out
A lot of people come from far and wide to have their greyhounds seen at the OSU greyhound program, since it is also world reknowned. I know people who have driven over 9 hours for a second opinion from an OSU greyhound vet.

Will they let me pay them in cupcakes? lol
I hate that money matters, but I've been off work for a while now, and paying for school, so I am broke. And it doesn't help that we've already wracked up quite a few care credit expenses for her.
I'll have to see what I can do, and if I can wiggle some things around. It would definitely be worth it if they can do something to help her.

WTF. Just fix my d@mned cat. I am so frustrated right now, and I just want to cry. Which will do no good at all, but it might make me feel better. lol
