New fence and cough update! PIP

We finally were able to build our fence! All of the dogs LOVE not having to be leashed while outside. We just put up boards over our gates for now because we don't need to use them and it got late last night to do it right but the dogs can't get out. We'll fix it when it's warmer and we have more light Wink

As for Cocoa's cough, the vet said she suspects it's kennel cough. She said that he may have gotten it because he's so nervous so maybe his immune system isn't as high as the other two. Hopefully the other two won't get it. Cocoa is now on meds for the next week and a half. He takes it like a champ though since I hide it in a treat.

Now for some pictures

Me+power tools=FUN! I loved helping hang the pickets...until the nail gun quite working

Magic, the very happy always lived in an apartment dog. The only true freedom he had before was in a dog park. He loves this!

And my goofy Dapper Doodle. He was being uncooperative with picture time. They all LOVE having the fence in!

They are! Cocoa is still pretty shy but is definitely coming out of his shell. We have found he's a hoarder though and he'll steal my clothes if they are left out. They are both so sweet. But, my mom was outside with the dogs a little while ago and said that Cocoa was eating poop. Anything I can do to stop it...besides the obvious following them with the poop scoop Wink?

    Glad everyone is getting along!

And the bold section I quoted made my lol - really!

Love the pics - your two "newbies" have a sly look - like they're about to get into some mischief!

Our Jasper was an "apartment" dog like your Magic. I remember the first time we let him off the leash (at our current home, which now had a fence)- poor guy didn't know what to do! He'd never been off one before, we don't have any dog parks around us.  So glad we have our "new" fenced yard!

The fence yard makes everyone happy - people and pets!

They are very mischievous!! It's like having a newly walking baby around again LOL! They are into EVERYTHING! Dapper more than Cocoa but they both do it. And yes, very happy people/pets all around!

  • Oh yay fence and yay happy dogs!!

In regards to the poop eating, my vet suggested MSG. You can find it in some meat tenderizers (I have it written down somewhere but am really tired and don't want to move.) He said you put a good healthy dash on every dog's food and it'll make the poo taste bad but it'll take a couple months to kick in.
