DC/Baltimore Pesties - three cute kittens in need of a good home!
Three of Gus's littermates are looking for homes (long story, but my friend's husband has said that if she doesn't find homes for them ASAP, he's taking the last three to the pound). She's ready to post them on Craigslist, which makes me nervous because there are so many sketchy people there, but I figured I'd see if there were any Pesties here who could give a good referral for a loving, safe home for these three kitties. They are 12-weeks old, litter box trained, two girls (one black and white, one gray and cream), and one boy (orange tabby and white). If anyone is looking to adopt a kitty or knows of a good home, that would be great! TIA!

By the pound, does he mean a shelter?
I foster for the MDSPCA, and last time I was at a meeting, they mentioned that they did not have a ton of cats or kittens. You could call them and make an appointment to take the kittens there.
They do not euthanize for space, and any animal in the adoption program is there until it finds a home. I think they generally ask a small fee to help with the care. There might be a wait list, though; I'm not sure. Would your friend be willing to keep them until space opens up?
I have 5 of my own...otherwise....
5 cats. 1 baby.
He wasn't specific, but when she heard "pound", she had visions of kill shelters in her head. (Understandably, this was upsetting - she was there the night these little guys were born and is not surrendering them by choice.)
That's great to know about the SPCA, though - I'll pass that information along to her. I don't know if he will let her keep them until space opens up, but I can certainly let her know that. She feels like with Craigslist she can at least screen people to some degree - but an organization like the SPCA clearly has the resources to screen far more effectively.
(We have a small place - two kitties who are still adjusting to each other fit perfectly. Adding a third would probably make Gus very happy and make Callie go postal... Adding the child we're TTC would put us at max capacity.)
