I dropped my iPhone on the kitchen floor last night and cracked the screen. The screen is still there and I can use it, but it looks like a photo negative. So weird. I am going to go to Verizon today during lunch and see what I can do. I hope I don't have to pay $600 for a replacement!!! Did this ever happen to anyone?? I'm sooooooo sad!!!!!
Ugh I'm so clumsy
Re: SOOO sad
now you can get a droid! haha kidding - yeah phones suck - be really sweet and play the poor me and see what you can get out of the guy... i always insure my phone as sh*t always seems to happen!
the other advice i can give you - is that if verizon isn't cooperative and you are going to have to pay outright for a new one, go with best buy - they have great protection plans (lil pricer at $10 vs $5/month w/ att) but no deductible - and they have a buy back program where you can usually get more than what you pay for the phone in a year to 18 months! no joke!
good luck!
edit - hey this is my 1000th post! LOL thx Ali!

WOW so glad I could be part of this enormous milestone
That's good to know about Best Buy - thank you!!! I don't have insurance on the phone, and I'm not prepared to pay $600 for a new one. But how can I live without it??? Going to go to the mall soon, and see what happens!!!!!!!
ARGH
That blows! Hopefully you get someone nice enough to cut you a deal. I haven't gotten the protection on my phone yet but will once baby is old enough to get his hands on it.
Good luck!

Ok update! I signed up for insurance and they are letting me use it retroactively. I have to use the broken phone for a few days until I get a replacement. It works, it's just really hard to see the screen. It'll cost me $160 for replacement, not bad.
WHEW!
Yes, Melissa (and others with little ones or expecting little ones) - get the insurance. You never know!!
Yay that you could get it replaced!! Do you have a case on it? I have an Otterbox case on my iPhone and its great! Kind of bulky, but if it saves me a cracked screen I'll put up with it!
Here is the case for the iPhone 4.

Phew, that's great that you didn't have to buy a new phone!
I'm thinking I should get insurance too, I just dropped my phone down 2 flights of concrete stairs. . . and got really lucky because it only suffered a minor scratch on the plastic shell. But next time I KNOW I won't be as lucky!
