Vet visit?

Buddy has somehow hurt his leg/foot and I don't know how much longer I should wait for a vet visit.  He started lifting his foot Saturday night and wouldn't put any pressure on it.  I looked him over and didn't see anything visably wrong. He was confined and in the morning still was not putting pressure on it.  After his morning potty he was bearing weight on it with a slight limp.  Later in the day he was walking normally.  Rinse, Repeat until today.  I am concerned that something is wrong but I can move his pads and foot without him flinching or pulling away.  Would you go to the vet or wait it out for another day or two?

Re: Vet visit?

  • We are going through the same situation with Bella right now.  She started limping on Saturday, but she's not flinching or pulling away when we move her leg/paw like you describe Buddy doing.  I thought hers was getting a little better yesterday so we were still "waiting and seeing" but this morning it seemed to be worse again so we might take her in tomorrow.

Sorry, that's probably not much help.  Hope he feels better soon, though!

Poor Bella!  I wish they could just tell us what is wrong...it would make things so much easier.  I think I will take him in tomorrow.

  • I would take him in, my rule is 3 days and if no progress then in the pet goes!

Sounds like there is definitely something going on, especially since he's flinching/pulling away. There's probably something wrong you can't see.

That is the thing.  He is NOT flinching or pulling away.  And he is slowly walking on it more and more he just still limps a bit each day.
