T&Ps (BR)

But not my baby.

My bff's coworker had her baby this week at 26 weeks. She weighs a little over a pound. Also, coworker had to have a hysterectomy, which she was not expecting.

She has been through so much trying to have this baby. She did in vitro. I may not be explaining this right, but when you pay for it, apparently you get a certain number of tries, and this baby was conceived on her last try. It was twins, but one twin didn't make it, and they had to remove that twin, which put her on bed rest for the entire pregnancy.

The baby is doing ok, but I cannot imagine going through all that, and waking up to find out out "Surprise, no more kids for you!"

Re: T&Ps (BR)

  • I'll be thinking of her... We're not TTC right now, and I'm young enough that when we start I'll have plenty of time to try but I always worry about having problems. It does break my heart that the people that WANT kids have problems and yet, Snooki's knocked up (no offense to Snooki).

  • Good Lord, that's aweful.  I hope the little one makes it and that the mom is recovering well.  I hope the hospital is providing counceling after the surgery as well.  She'll need it; that's a huge life/body change.  T&P sent.

  • Ugh, wow... that's scary, and I hope the baby makes it through okay!
  • I think the baby is doing well. She's tiny, just a little over 1 pound, but they took her off the ventilator so I think that is a good sign.

  • Shes in my thoughts hon. Just remember that medicine has come a long way and keep your chin up for your coworker.
