Dinner suggestion (prepping tonight)

I am going over to BFF's tomorrow night for dinner, but we're bringing the meal (they are parents & it's impossible for them to come over to our place for dinner w/o the hassle of putting the baby down to sleep).  So, instead of making dinner at our place, I'll be doing it there.  I'd love to prep @ my place tonight & then bake/cook over there.  Preferably not the typical lasagna.

 Thoughts? Suggestions?

Re: Dinner suggestion (prepping tonight)

  • You could easily do a stir fry. Prep your veggies and proteins tonight (including the marinade for the dish) and then quickly saute everything tomorrow.  You could even cook rice tonight and reheat it tomorrow (in the microwave).

There are tons of dessert options.  Maybe make a bar dessert that you can bake tonight and then just take over tomorrow?  You could always heat it up and serve it a la mode.

  • Tacos or burritos?  You could prep all the toppings tonight and then cook the meat at your friends house tomorrow.

As for dessert, you could bake browies tonight.  Then bring along some topping w/ vanilla ice cream, warm the brownies and make brownie sundaes.

  • stuff chicken breasts, cube potatos and toss with evoo and seasonings, and prep a veggie...have thee baking dishes ready to put in the oven
  • I would make something like this stroganoff, you could make it in the crockpot or on the stovetop. Add the final sour cream mixture at their house while noodles are boiling. I like to serve with a steamed green veg.
