Need suggestions for help with cat vomiting.

We have a 7 year old male cat. He has always been a puker but the last 2 years it has become increasingly bad. If we do not give him laxatone daily he will vomit at least once a day and always after he eats or drinks. I know it's a hairball problem because when he is getting the laxatone regularly he's vomits infrequently. If we miss a dose or 2, it opens the puking flood gates and for about a week it's just vomit everywhere! Usually he vomits up his food or sometimes it's just watery bile substance. We took him to the vet when the puking became more frequent and they took blood and stool samples and they found nothing of concern. He is not losing weight, he uses the litter box fine & is eating/drinking normal , he just pukes a ton. We switched his food 2 years ago to Wellness Complete Health. He only eats dry food, he will not touch wet food for some reason, and we have tried many times. I am not sure if switching his food again would help? Does anybody know of any high quality cat foods that help with hairballs and vomiting? We really are hoping that we can stop giving him the laxatone every day because it is difficult to even get him to take it , he knows when its coming and now it takes both of us to get it down him. I'm also not sure if it is meant to be a lifetime solution to the problem. Our vet really didnt seem very concerned and said some cats just vomit a lot but my cat didnt always vomit this much, only the past few years it has become so frequent. He needs to go back to thet vet soon for shots so I will bring it up there, but I wanted to see if any of you ladies had any suggestions ?

My parents have a cat who vomits frequently (my childhood cat) one thing the vet suggested is after he eats to try to keep him calm and not let him run around, be hyper, etc. Don't pick up kitty, bounce him around etc - let his food settle.
The Vet said after cats eat they tend to get really hyper and run around like crazy animals. Like some people, if you bounce them around to much after they eat - they puke.
If you can, it won't hurt to try keeping him calm. Obviously, it's hard when you're not home. You could also try switching to a food with a protein easier for his stomach to digest.

We had a cat who was a frequent puker and wet food basically fixed it. When she doesn't get wet food she pukes everywhere. We also split it into two small meals a day. We feed Natural Balance b.c. she also has food allergies but mine go absolutely gaga for most Merrick flavors. You could try switching to a dry food for allergies like Natural Balance as they sometimes show up in the form of puking.
