Do you have a food processor?

I just bought this one at Costco on the weekend  http://tinyurl.com/7fd9o8m

I bought it primarily for making baby food, but there have been other times that I've wished I had one for various reasons.  I think it's a great price, but I'm just wondering if I'll really use it enough to justify having another kitchen appliance taking up space.

I have a baby bullet that my grandma bought me that I can use for baby food making.

If you have one do you use it much?  If so, what for?

I'm sorry - I don't know what is going on, I can't get the link to not be funky like that.

ETA:  Nevermind....

  •  The link isn't working above so here's a clicky Smile

I've got one that fits onto my Bosch Kitchen Center and use it regularly.

  • Yes, I have one. I registered for a combo blender/food processor, because I wanted a blender, so I figured why not just get the combo. It has one base, and then the blender part and the food processor part for the top can be switched. I use the food processor WAY more than I ever thought I would. When I need onion chopped, I just throw it in there (I like onion to be very small when I am putting in things, like sauces etc. I like the flavor but I don't like chewing them! haha). At first DH didn't want to bother using it thinking it was way more work than just chopping things small, but we just throw everything in the dishwasher after we're done. I am definitely glad that we have one.

I have the same one for the same reason.

I use it a lot of pesto, salsa androasted tomato sauce. And I like to make raw cookie dough balls (dates, cashews, vanilla, agave, chocolate chips).

  • I don't have one, I only have a full size blender and a Cuisinart personal blender with the criss-cross and flat blades. But I want one. Especially for baby food and pesto, hummus, and chopping things in larger quantity than the slap chop or small blender thing. My mom always had a food processor and used it to make all kinds of salads, like ham and chicken, and things like salsa, etc.

This too, chicken salad is soooo easy when using the food processor, I just throw everything in there!

  • I have one and also the Beaba Babycook.  I use my processor fairly regularly.  If you aren't sure if you would use it or not I probably wouldn't spend that much, but that is just me.  My food processor wasn't more than $50.

  • I don't, but I really want one. I have my eye on a small 3.5 cup Kitchen aid one at Target. I really like that it is smaller and could be stored away when not in use (the plus is that it is a pretty green and I'm sold on any kind of pretty kitchen tool). I'm thinking about hinting at it for my birthday next month...

I have this one. It's red, and fantastic. I use it more often than I thought I would for chopping up herbs and crushing nuts and things for crunchy coatings.

I haven't taken my big one out of the packaging yet (got it for this xmas), but I have one of they little ones and use it constantly. It is the perfect size for pesto and other sauces. I use it to chop onions, etc. Also, works well to chop up dinner for the baby.

  • I have a Cuisinart food processor, http://tinyurl.com/7awlw2a I love it! I use it all of the time for all of the above mentioned reasons. I find it really handy and always have it on my counter next to my KA mixer. It is one of my favorite kitchen appliances!

Sorry if the formatting is weird, I'm on my phone.

This and the reasons Marie said are exactly how I was thinking I'd use it. Thanks for the recommendation.
