Tell me all about My Fitness Pal (app)

I used to use Sparkpeople and had great success with it in the past (when I was only going on the website w/the computer). I tried it again a few months ago but their app was very glitchy and I dont know, I just wasn't feeling it anymore, kwim? It wasn't motivating enough and didn't make me crack down on my diet enough (which is my main issue).

So I started using the My Fitness Pal app about 2 weeks ago. I like it so far, but it does your daily intake/exercise differently than Sparkpeople does and I am still getting used to it. Some days I have a hard time hitting 1200.  I'm not hundreds of cals short, usually less than 50 (I never had that issue before, but it's like i'm scared to go over the number for some reason. lol And dont bother going into the whole "eat 1200 and go into starvation mode" thing because I dont necessarily believe in that.)

Anyone have success tracking with this? How accurate do you feel like it's weight loss predictions were?

  • Love love love mfp!  I had success tracking on it a few years ago and lost 25 lbs, now I'm back on post pregnancy and need to lose about 40.   We're on our way again using mfp!
