Jessica Simpson/Nick Lachey - One-uppers?

Doesn't it seem like whenever one of them has big news the other comes out with big news just days later?  It was like that with their very close together engagements and now that Nick's wife is pregnant, Jessica has suddenly revealed the sex of her baby.  

I think these two are still hung up on each other.

I honestly do not think so.

I think they might relish a little bit in outshining the other. But I do not believe that they're purposely trying to one-up each other.

And I most definitely do not think they are hung up on each other.

Technically, that article that revealed her baby's sex was written before Nick/Vanessa announced her pregnancy. 

I agree with PP. They might enjoy outshining each other but I don't think much more goes into it.

I think its just the stage/season their lives are in at the moment. 
If anything I would blame the media for fueling any fire.

Yeah, I don't really mean that they're hung up on each other romantically but I definitely think that they compete with one another whether it's intentional or unconscious.

It is so weird that they always have these big announcements right near the other persons.... but could be just coincidental.

I think it's mostly coincidental.  I did kinda think Jessica's lame "engagement" was a bit of a AW move because Nick and Vanessa had just gotten engaged.    But all the baby related stuff is probably coincidence.   They're all in prime baby years.

I mean, they are both young people moving forward in life and there are only so many big life events that people this age do...they were kind of bound to overlap somewhat. The rest is coincidence.

I agree with this. They are both at the age where most people begin having children. Also, I think it would be hard to one-up someone with pregnancy considering how perfectly timing getting pregnant like that would be difficult for many people.

I will say that Jessica looks pretty fabulous in her Elle pregnancy photo shoot.    

ETA: I don't think anyone will be paying Vanessa for a similar spread.  Haha.

I don't think that they are still hung up on each other, but I have often found it coincidental how they experience major life events at the same time.

I thought the annoucements of both the engagement and baby news is a little too coincidental if you ask me.

Icould see within a year or so of eachothers annoucments, due to their ages, but a month or a week window...yea...there's something fishy.
