FIRST Training F/U Question

As a f/u to my last post, I'm glad to know that FIRST has worked for others. Since I am rebuilding my base (from scratch... sigh), I am following the beginner plan outlined in the FIRST book. That being said, my question is as follows:

For the running portions of the R/W, do I run at the pace I am trying to get to? IE: If I want to be at 10m/mi, I run the portions at 10m/mi. OR do I run at the "comfortable" pace, and over time the time will go down? I've looked on the RW forums and in the book, but haven't found this clarification. Any insight is appreciated... TIA.
