So Im finally doing it!

Im changing my life and making it better and healthier. I have two kids and my oldest is 6 and my youngest is 1. I am 26 years old and I should be at my best right now, not at my worst (I feel anyway). I weigh right now is 190. My goal is to get back to 140-150 range by my birthday in October. My husband and best friend are my biggest supporters right now. So far what I am doing as far as working out, I have taken up a spin class that I do about 3-4 times a week at 45 min. Today I was able to spin and keep up through the whole 45 min! I am so proud of myself. I started about 3 weeks ago and just up until last week been going steadily. Im also taking a Zumba, abs and glutes, and barre fitness class. I do each one about 2 times a week. At home I am doing the 30 day shred when I can't make it to a class. I also walk about 3 times a week and really want to get back into running. my biggest struggle is eating what I should be eating without getting burnt out on eating the same thing day in and day out. Any suggestions for food. Mainly breakfast, lunch and snacks. Pinterest has become my favorite place to get some awesome healthy recipes. I have cut out fast food completely. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. :) I have been lurking for the past week or so and you ladies are amazing! And so encouraging! Thank you for reading. I just wanted to share my story. :)

  • My only suggestion would be to slow down a bit. You don't want to do too much too soon and risk injury. You need at least one complete day off per week from exercising to recover.

Great suggestion. I do take off Tuesdays. And I do listen to my body. If I feel not right I won't workout or I do a small walk around my neighborhood with my dog. :) But thank you for the reminder to let my body rest.

  • Congrats on starting your healthy journey!
  • Kudos to you!  The biggest part of the battle is getting past that "I hate working out" wall.  Agree on the rest, and it's great that you're listening to your body.  I got into running to lose weight, and I found that signing up for races and making similar commitments (even just telling a friend "let's go for a run together next weekend") helps you stay on track!
