Where should I keep the kitty after she's spayed?

We were told to keep the kittens from jumping for 2 weeks after their spay. I asked my mom where she kept our dog after she was spayed and my mom said that she didn't really worry about it because Peanut didn't do much other than lay.  She really didn't have much of a suggestion.  The vet tech suggested a bathroom but the girls love jumping on the sink and toilet.

  • My kitty was pretty drugged up after she got spayed and sore. They told us to confine her to the bathroom too but she cried and just wanted to snuggle with us. I would just watch her. If you have to leave for work or what not I would just put her water and litter box it a room (maybe your bedroom) and give her a blanket to lie on that smells like you.

  • When my foster cat was spayed we kept her in a big dog crate when we couldn't watch her.  Like pp said, she was pretty drugged up and slept a lot anyway.  They also sent us home with a soft cone so she couldn't get to her incision.

This is what we did with S, because B and L were also babies and VERY into wrestling.  S was only allowed out of the crate when we were home so we could keep an eye on her.  We had to put a flattened cereal box over the door because she kept escaping.
