scabs on dog's back

Warning this could be long ~ On Dec. 23 we took our dog for a bath, on Dec. 31 we noticed that he had red scabs all down his back. We took him to the vet and I mentioned to her that we had been to the bath and she said no it has nothing to do with that the scabs contain flea dirt (which she told us was odd cause our province doesn't have fleas).  She gave us oral antibiotics which he took twice a day for 10 days and a topical antibiotic which she did the first dose of and then we did a dose on Jan 31 and Feb 29.  On Mar. 3 we took him to the bath again ~ the vet had recommended that we bath him at the end of the antibiotic cycle.  And tonight Mar. 7 he has scabs again down his back.  I now can't help but think it is linked to the place we went to for the bath.  Any advice or thoughts on what we can do.  TIA

Des had scabs on her back as well. My vet said he was seeing it plenty due to dog allergies this time of year. They gave me antibiotics however they gave Des the runs, so I stopped them with the quickness. We didn't baths her for about a month( YUCK she was oily) and finally after she was bathed ( in Oatmeal soap) her back was fine.
