Homemade Snacks

I am really trying to focus on cutting down on the store bought snack stuff that I get for my 3 year old.  If any of you have recipes you have tried & liked please take a minute to link me.  Thanks!

Re: Homemade Snacks

  • Confections of a Foodie Bride has a graham cracker recipe in her blog that we really like. Homemade applesauce is also really easy and you can add other things to it like pears, berries, etc.

I just do store-bought, but clean, stuff. Fruit, yogurt, cheese cubes, etc.

  • I buy some shelf stable snacks but hardly ever use them. I have a few small containers that are perfect for packing fresh-ish snacks. She likes grape tomatoes, red grapes, raisins, cheese. She'll even snack on veggies like broccoli florets, carrots. We also tend to keep cold pasta in the fridge, so I'll mix a little pasta with any other item - I often mix two snacks together. I'll even do a small half sandwich and cut it up into pieces for a snack. Whenever possible, I try to make her "snack" something that I want her to eat anyway.
My darling daughter just turned 4 years old.
  • I only have a few on my blog, link in siggy, but I have a bunch more coming since I've traded in store bought snacks and making my own goldfish crackers, graham crackers, breakfast and lunch ideas etc.
