I can thank MH for totaling my car
Last week, T was in a pretty bad car accident coming home from the airport (I didn't post anything about it because I was too upset at the time)- luckily he wasn't hurt but he pretty much totaled our vehicle.
We just heard back from our insurance and they declared the car a total loss- however, they are giving us an AWESOME deal for it (the car was old and had almost 160K miles on it), way more than it was worth on Kelly Blue Book. Because at this time we really only need one car (I have been biking to work now that it's nicer out), we can take this chunk of change and set it aside for Hawaii and some new furniture for our new pad.
I thanked him last night for wrecking the car. Who would have thought? When life hands you lemons.....

I'm so glad T was not hurt!
That is awesome. I plan on doing the same thing (Hawaii) whenever I get the settlement for my accident. You've got to make the best of what happens!

I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, even the shiity things that are hard to process and cope with. I am so glad that things are working out to your favor financially AND that the car was the only thing seriously injured!!
New furniture and a trip to Hawaii? Yes, please! That's great!
Sounds like a good outcome of a bad situation!
ITA- I was really upset at first becuase it was putting us in a financial bind (since our MA house is STILL on the market) and I was freaking out that we were going to go broke fixing it, but then I reminded myself to trust the universe and it ended up providing for us (I know that sounds corny, but it's true)
