F/U to mom's surgery and my audition
DH and I were planning to stay in town next Friday to be around for my mom when she gets out of her shoulder surgery (rotator cuff tear), then leave for Atlanta Saturday morning and hope to get there in time for my audition group at 5:00 p.m.
I got an e-mail yesterday from the casting group that they've split the auditions into two days, some on Friday, some on Saturday. Mine is still on Saturday, but my time got moved up to 3:00 p.m., which makes driving up on Saturday morning a bit more problemsome.
So I called my mom and was telling her all this, and she said that since her surgery next Friday is outpatient (unless there are complications and they want her to recover in the hospital, in which case there wouldn't be anything I could do for her anyway since there will be nurses, lol) and the time is set for 12:30, she should be home well before 6:00 (which is when the IL's are leaving for Atlanta). She said that as long as I'm around to help my dad get her home all zonked out on drugs, they really won't need me after that.
So my mom wants me to revert to my original plan, ride to Atlanta with the IL's next Friday, stay in the paid-for room at the Hilton, and audition for The Voice on Saturday. 
Please send T&Ps next week for my mom's surgery and wish me luck for my audition!
