Not a cook - anyone want to help me?
I have never been big into cooking. I think we have 3 meals that everyone likes and fill in the rest with leftovers and eating out. DH started traveling a few months ago and only gets home every other weekend. I work 3 days a week and get home right at dinner time. I am trying to find some meals that I can make on the weekend and freeze.
DD has a soy and peanut allergy. They aren't too picky, just typical kid likes and dislikes.
Do you have any good website or blogs to look at? Or recipes you would like to share?
TIA

When I first started cooking I used allrecipes.com all of the time. You can search by meal type or with specific ingredients.
Here's my tag for soups and stews which is what I freeze the most. http://www.cookaholicwife.com/search/label/soups%20n%20stews
Do you have a crock pot? I work late every Monday so I always have something in the crock pot that day so we're not eating at 8 or 9.

One of the best ways to try new things is to do variations on a theme
Pick up boboli pizza shells and try new toppings on pizza.
Like pasta with tomato sauce, add new vegetables to the potato sauce. Zucchini Marinara is a favorite at our house

Like macaroni & cheese, try adding cauliflower. http://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/browse-all-recipes/macaroni-cheese-cauliflower-00000000008063/index.html
Fresh strawberries looked good at the grocery store this morning. Mix fresh 1 qt fresh strawberries with 10 oz bag of baby spinach and add bottled poppy seed dressing. It goes good with the cauliflower mac & cheese.
