She's a POTATO

I heard a new acronym this morning, and I fear that I might fit the category at times.  They were referring to Goldie Hawn as a "potato" because she was snapped leaving some club in London at 4am and was totally wasted.

Re: She's a POTATO

  • Aw! Can I have a dislike button?

I still want to be able to get drunk when I'm 30.

Who am I kidding. I want to be able to get drunk well into my "later" years.

ETA: Change the age... I thought that said 40 instead of 30.

  • If being a POTATO is wrong.. I don't want to be right.

(I'm not actually over 30 - but doubt anything will change by the time I am.)

  • My dad and his wife are POTATOs. Then again, they don't have any kids (besides myself) and I really enjoy partying with them!

  • I am happy this isn't viewed as a negative thing overall!

I am pretty sure that when I am out with my closest girlfriends and we are tanked, we turn into those "Woo Girls" who get loud, dance too much, and act younger than we are.   But it's fun and I like to think that maybe I am not pegged as over 30 based on looks, especially since I still get carded a lot!

I thought it was a funny term though, I guess it could apply to those who dress way younger than they are as well.

I love the term and will use it frequently.
  • Heck, potatoes, and little else, kept the Irish alive for a long time.

I like this. I'll use it often. I however did think of the women who still dress themselves in the juniors section when their daughters are shopping in the same place. A few weekends ago I was at a bar and this woman must have been early 50's with a bleach blonde ponytail atop her head, a red tank top all knotted in the back  to make it tight and short and knee high fur boots. Oh... my.

Photos! We need photos of these things!
  • Ala, I didn't even have my phone or there would have been photographic evidence! She hugged everyone and seemed to be a regular, so if I go back I'm sure she'll be there, looking just as... marvelous. And I'll bring y'all pics!

    I can count to potato.

BUT I will say I do most of my clothes shopping in juniors stores and sections because I am so tiny I can't find clothes that fit anywhere else. (In my defense, I am only 25. And I try not to dress like a 16 year old.)
