I finally got around to doing our taxes. I had been procrastinating because I realized we would owe this year after getting H's SSDI W-2 because I had no idea SSDI was taxable and we did not have taxes withheld. Apparently you have to fill out a Voluntary W-4 which I have now done but didnt know about prior to the W-2. So I was thinking we were gonna owe around $10k and freaking out because we could not afford that. I was 99.9% sure it would be that or more. Well the accountant just called and we owe a little less than $2k. This is SUCH a HUGE relief. I am so happy!!!!

Re: Best News Ever
I am glad your amount due is much more manageable, that's great!
**cheers**
Sorry you had tax stresses too. H had worked a little for a company that was giving him a 1099 and we knew we'd owe taxes for that so I had set aside more than I expected to pay for that, just to be safe. However I hadn't accounted for the SSDI. What really saved us was our out of pocket medical bills. It was a major deductible and evened out the SSDI but I wasn't sure it would so I was ignoring dealing with it for a long time!
