weekly (weekend) book post
So what's everyone reading?
Re: weekly (weekend) book post
I am still reading Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. I really need to get reading since I need to start planning my unit for it.
I am still listening to House Rules. It still occasionally bugs me, but I am enjoying it.
I just started Thinking in Pictures: My Life with Autism by Temple Grandin. DH and I love the movie Temple Grandin with Claire Danes and I have been wanting to read her book.
I started and finished Angelfire and Wings of the Wicked. Both were YA fantasy books. The second of which was the one I won on Goodreads. They were SO good, i can't wait for the next one in the series to come out, but its not going to be until 2013...AHHH!
I also just started The Infinite Library, it looked interested and more of an intellectual read that what i've been doing lately.
I'm also reading Knights of the Chosen, the sequel to Last of the Chosen, which i read last month. It's pretty good so far.
I got a lot of reading done while i was in NYC this week
I didn't turn the TV on once and couldn't sleep haha

I am a gluten-free, gun-toting wife! :P
I love you, Daddy...2/24/1953 to 2/13/2011
Yay! So glad that you are enjoying it!
I just finished Naked in Death (first in a series by JD Robb) and Vision in White (1st of 4 books by Nora Roberts). One was sci-fi, one romance. Both good!
I also read a hi-lo book that was exactly 100 pages for my class on Monday. Still have to read King Dork and Pagan's Crusade for this weeks class. Not looking forward to it as they are a little longer than the hi-lo book. I don't mind long books if they're ones that interest me/I pick when I read them. I've enjoyed most of the books for the class but some of them I've had a hard time getting into them - if I got to choose when I read them and not have to read many required books the same week I'd probably enjoy them more.
And if anyone is interested in YA lit- last week we had to read a weird one involving an old elfin curse, rape, and teen marriage/pregnancy. Most of the class (all adults) thought it was weird and didn't like it. I'm listening to it now (a week later) and it's getting better. My instructor loved it, and a lot of teens (teen girls, specifically) at the libraries are reading it and loving it. It's called Impossible.
I just read Naked in Death too! I matched it with Born in Fire for the challenge. I can't believe I had not read any of the In Death series before. I enjoyed it.
I will definitely look for Impossible. Sounds fun!
