For some reason I bought a 5 pound bag of pears (along with more 5 pound bags of other fruits). Needless to say, I haven't been able to finish them and they are about to go bad. What can I make with them? If it is a dessert, it needs to be something that I could send to work with the guys, so nothing fancy. I would really like something that isn't a dessert. Can I just freeze them or something like that?

That's that I got, if you make the muffins then you can make a lot of them & then freeze them. I think you could do the same with the scones.

Love baked pears.
How about poached pears? Or make a pear sauce by roasting them then pureeing (no need to add sweetener) and use in other recipes or as a side dish instead of cranberry sauce for example.
