talk to me about weight watchers
I'm thinking of doing weight watchers. What should I expect? How difficult/time consuming is it to log everything? What results have you had?
Any insight will be helpful. Thanks!

I have lost 111lbs over the past 19 months doing WW. I really like it. I track everything on line and go to a meeting for official weigh in. I do not find tracking difficult. Sometimes I track the night before if I know what our plans are for the next day. It has simply just become a part of my life. Learning what foods are worth what points, finding recipes and converting to points, and getting a balance with food and exercise are all things people talk about when doing WW. I average .5-1.5lbs a loss a week but that is over 19 months. Some weeks great, some weeks not. But it has overall changed my life into a healthy life.

I second all of this. Tracking is not time consuming, and I would not have been successful without tracking. Weekly meetings help you learn a little, but they're most helpful in keeping me honest. I weigh in every morning anyway, but the once weekly "official" weigh in and the friendships I've made at WW keep me from skipping meetings and getting off track.
I think it's worth every penny.

For the first two months, I didn't change anything about my life except the eating. After two months I started the C25K program. If you're not familiar with that, google it. Will be happy to answer any specific questions about either program.

I agree with this. You can still go out to eat with friends or have people over for dinner. You become much more aware of what you are eating, as well as how much. I personally find it easier to keep track of 29 points than 1700 calories each day. My group leaders and other women in the group helped when I hit a plateau, shared recipes, keep you honest about your overall weight loss progress.
Since I generally packed close to the same thing for breakfast and lunch each day at work, I knew how many points I used for the majority of my day, and was a little more creative with dinner (but I'm a creature of habit). I also labeled every single food in my house with a sticky note of points/ serving size. That made it easier for me to see and make good choices, even though nothing is off limits.
My goal was 15 lbs, and I've kept it off for almost a year now.
Everyone else has pretty much covered everything. It's not hard to track points at all. I set up a spreadsheet in Google Docs and can log in anywhere I am. I don't have a smartphone, but I've heard of others using an app to track points. After a couple months, it's just part of the day and you will come to know the point values of most things. I tend to eat a lot of the same things (only b/c I'm picky - not b/c WW makes me), so it's been pretty easy.
It's been ~13.5 months for me and I've lost almost 105lbs (about 30% of my starting weight), so I would definitely say that it is successful. I lost the first 35lbs without doing a single bit of exercise. It has come off quicker with exercise, but it works either way.
I love it, I started WWers in early January, 20 pounds over my ideal weight. And I have lost 12 pounds. I have never lost that quickly before. I still eat things I want, I track my points online and I eat smarter. I have seven pounds to go to goal but even if I make it before December, I have promised myself to attend meetings because the maintenance is going to be a big deal too. I actually think it will be harder because I won't have the fireworks of the weight being lost. But I will say, it's tough the weeks I don't do as well, I have to remind myself this is a long term process. I really think the only way I am going to get to my ideal weight and stay at it is WWers.
I don't have the impressive weight loss of the other posters, but even 20 pounds has been a personal hurdle for me and it's comforting that at the meetings there are other women with less to lose also and we all are there to support each other.
I also love WW, and I agree that you get out of it what you put into it. I am losing pretty slowly (I have lost 70ish pounds in two years), but I am also not 100% on plan all the time, and I know that this affects my results. However, I have found the plan very livable in the way that I am doing it, so I am fine with the slower weight loss.
I think that the meetings are KEY, although I know people who have had success online. Sitting in a room full of people who know exactly what I am talking about when I talk about struggling with food is very helpful, and hearing about their victories is inspiring. I am also lucky that I found a leader who I LOVE, and she helps to keep me motivated.
I have lost 55lbs in 8 months with the WW program.
I never set out to do WW, but I downloaded a couple weight loss apps on my phone when I wanted to start dieting. One of them was a free WW app that calculated my daily points as well as the points of the food I ate. So I started doing it on my own and have had great success with it (without ever paying anything or going to a meeting).
I highly recommend the program.
