1. How many grams to start? Close to zero?
2. Is ketosis a goal, or do you try to avoid ketosis?
3. If you check for ketones, how low (grams) do you have to go to put youself into ketosis?

Re: Low carbers, question
1. How many grams to start? Close to zero? Atkins wants you to start with about 20g a day with 12-15g being foundation vegetables.
2. Is ketosis a goal, or do you try to avoid ketosis? I believe that is a goal because when you are in ketosis you are burning your own body fat instead of carbs for fuel.
3. If you check for ketones, how low (grams) do you have to go to put youself into ketosis? It varies for each individual. Atkins has the initial Induction set at 20g because that number seems to work across the board for everyone.
