Anyone using Tide Pods or other brand?

The directions say, toss pod into water, then put in the load of clothes. Well my washer was nearly full of water and the Pod hadn't popped, dispersed, whatever yet. So I gently squeezed it and it easily popped. Then I put my clothes in. Should I have to worry about doing that or is is ok to put the clothes in before the Pod disappears? Thanks! :)

Re: Anyone using Tide Pods or other brand?

  • I have been using them for two or three weeks now. I just throw them in and then my clothes. I am unsure when they pop but my clothes have been clean and smelling great. Just for ease of mind, when I put my clothes in the dryer I never find any remnants of the pod. HTH!
  • Thanks! :)

  • Question on those...

I've been wanting to try them, but it sounds like they won't work with my machine. H grandparents graciously bought us a washer and dryer when we moved. And the washer we have, only fills with water when we put the lid down. It has a sensor that can tell how full the washer is and adds water as needed.

So if I just put one of those in the washer with my clothes, do you think it'll work?

  • I think so, let me clear up how I do it. I throw a pod in the bottom of the empty washer, I then cover it with all of my clothes, then I turn the washer on and let it fill with water. I also know my mom uses it in a front load with no issues.
  • Ah ok. Thanks!!

  • Does it work the same on a front loader? I've used the Tide stain release packs and they work, but our laundry soap goes in a drawer in the top, not directly into the washer.

  • I'm back to using Method liquid, just because I love the company, but I've used dropps with both a top loader and a front loader with no ill effects. I've always put them in while the machine is filling, and then added the close later and haven't had any problems.

I also use the Chlorox2 pods - much easier than pouring.
