MIL also said that she wished that H had married our roommate, because she likes him better. HAHAHA
Re: HAHA and it gets better.
I'm not really sure why she is intentionally being cruel to her child.
My instinct is to just want to kill her.
She is just a mean nasty little person.
ETA: And CRAZY. She really thinks that doing this, and saying these things is going to make him do what she wants.
Reading stories like these makes me so happy I have a sane MIL. I don't konw how I'd react to someone like her.
I think your H should just tell her that he will no longer tolerate any mean or otherwise unpleasant comments about you or his marriage, and every time she says something, hang up on her or leave.
I know it's easier said than done, but I completely agree with this. She sounds toxic.
How does he react when she says these things?
I hope that you arent taking this all personally - doesn't seem like you are.
Ugh the things I would love to say to her.
Yikes.
Between this and your other thread, I think you should start a Sh!t my Mother-in-Law says twitter feed.
Maybe they'll make it into a t.v. show starring Joan Rivers or something.
Sheesh. What a witch.
