Louie has been a sneezing machine this past weekend. I'm talking like 20 sneezes at a time, multiple times per day. Yesterday, he had a visibly runny nose but the secretions were clear. We had a huge change in temperature this past weekend (65 degrees and sunny!!!) so I'm wondering if this could be related to seasonal allergies. I did read the FAQ section and it didn't really mention anything about sneezing and a runny nose. Since the secretions are clear, I also thought it could be a virus, so I have just been watching him and had him rest yesterday. Food and water intake has been normal too. For those who have dogs with seasonal allergies, do you notice more of the itchy redness symptoms or do you see sneezing and runny noses too?
Re: Seasonal allergies in dogs?
I give Pismo (85 lbs) one zyrtec per day as advised by my vet. For the first week we had to give her one at night and one during the day to get her on track, then cut is down to just the one at night!
