Wisdom teeth question

If you had yours removed, did your body temperature change? For the past few day, I've felt so incredibly hot, to the point where I'll start sweating. It's like I can't stay cool enough. Did this happen to anyone else?

Re: Wisdom teeth question

  • Not that I recall. Did you take your temperature? Do you actually have a fever, or do you just feel like you're hot? A fever could be sign of infection.
  • no, I don't remember that being an issue.

Sorry to hear it is for you, I hope you aren't getting any sicker.

  • I've never had wisdom teeth, but I want to say that I hope you feel better.

Make sure you aren't running a fever as infection can happen.

  • I went to the store and got a thermometer and no fever. They put me on antibiotics from day one.

  • Ditto Liz, fever can be a sign of infection. I don't remember temp changes, but mine was like 7 years ago. Might just call the nurse to be safe.

  • Not that I recall either.  I had mine out like 15 years ago though, so I don't really remember much.
  • I don't remember the first 2 days, because I slept through them.  I do remember that I did run a fever (or felt like I was running a fever) around the third and forth day.  I never called to see if it was normal, I just figured it was my body's way of handling the major trama it just went through.  I know you probally can't eat solid foods, but I at some semi solid food and felt better.

I really hope you start feeling better soon.

I can kind of eat semi solid foods, but it's very time consuming and difficult, because I can't chew with my back teeth like you normally would.

  • Yeah, not being able to eat with your back teeth is the thing that is really hard.  I lived off of soup the first 48 hours and then I graduated to chicken nuggets.

  • I think it's just your body reacting to the loss of teeth/blood and blood is rushing to the spot where they were causing you to feel hot. That's what my dentist told me at least.

That makes so much sense. I'm so ready to be over all this. All those people who said the recovery would be simple and I'd be fine in a couple of days are lying liars who lie. The oral surgeon said my recovery is so rough because of how badly impacted the teeth were, but still! I'm gonna go drown my sorrows in a milkshake.

Side note: I have gotten so many people on this joke:

Me: Oh, I can't have milkshakes.

    Them: Why?

Me: Because they bring all the boys to the yard! :::giggle fit:::

It's AMAZING how many people fall for it!
