Hi!
I am new to the board and wanted to introduce myself! My name is Kim and I have been a runner since 2009. I am recently getting back into it after loss of my daughter in December. One day I hope to run a Marathon but this year I will be building back up to the Half distance slowly ![]()
I run very slow but I absolutelu love it and I find it is great therapy. I hope to get to know you all better (I see a lot of you have blogs which I will definitely check out...my blog is www.bookwormruns.wordpress.com).
One question I do have...I can run and do cardio all day long but struggle with a strenght training routine. Any tips to start and stick with a routine? Thanks in advance! ![]()
Re: Saying Hello :)
Hi and welcome.
I do not consider myself a regular as I do not post on a consistent basis, but I do lurk and get tons of helpful tips from the regulars.
while training for my first half last year I struggled with the weight training also. I used the 30 day shred to get started into the weights. After my 1/2 I let myself slack out of exercise, and so to get myself on track again I started with the 30 day shred again. I find it is helpful because you learn basic strength moves and proper form. It is only 20 minutes a day, and once you build your strength you can either move up in levels and weights or move onto a totally new weight workout.
Good luck, I will defiantly be checking out your blog.
