How long is your typical workout (weights, not cardio)?

I always feel like a slacker when I'm in and out so quickly. But I do a quick 5-10 minute warmup on the bike and then I hit either upper or lower body exercises. Those take me 15-25 minutes, depending on what I do. I tend to superset as well, which speeds things up.

Re: How long is your typical workout (weights, not cardio)?

  • I do four exercises, three setss of each going 12, 10, 8, reps and I'm.usually done.in.30
  • I'm following NROLFW and only on stage 2 but I love how quick the workouts are - I am back home within an hour! I did hear they get longer though but I totally believe you can get a good weight workout in in 30mins esp if lifting heavy.

  • If i'm doing only weights I typically do bodypump which is an hour.

Otherwise i do circuits which is usually an hour

  • My workouts can be that quick, too. I feel like a slacker also, though. I don't always rest in betw sets either so that is why. I think it's fine, as long as your from is good.
  • I have a hard time doing weights on my own - I get bored very fast and the whole thing seems to go very quickly.  Whenever I can though, I take the Body Pump class which is an hour of strength with a weighted bar (minus a few minutes in between each muscle group to add/remove weight).  I know not all gyms have Body Pump but some have other variations of it like "Strictly Strength" and what not.
  • 30 minutes max.

  • I'm not a good example of balanced cardio/strength time. Running takes up so much of my time, that I'm just happy if I get my 10 planned strength workouts in per month. They range from 10-20 minutes, I would say.
  • I do full-body workouts. Three sets each of eight different exercises (broken into four supersets), plus core. It normally takes me 45 minutes to an hour, including warm up and stretching.

  • Not including warm up and cool down, about 30 minutes.

  • I usually do my weights on my lunch hour, which really only leaves me about 30 minutes for my actual workout.  You can do a lot in a little amount of time if you combine large and small muscle groups.
  • I suck and am not huge into weight lifting, though I know it is important.  Just recently I started adding it back in 2 days a week for 25-30 minutes before I do my run.
  • About 40-45 minutes, two or three times a week.  How many times depends on whether I am able to make it to spin, and if the weather is bad and I can't run. (I am a baby in the winter, and I admit it!)
  • I lift for an hour to 90 minutes, 5 days a week. To be fair, that hour consists of machines and free weights concentrating on certain areas -- back/tris (2 days), chest/tris (2 days), shoulders (EOD), legs (1 day). Floorwork  -- abs -- crunches and planks, push ups --(every day), and occasionally a quick TM run if I need cardio . I pyramid my weights and do 5 sets of 15 for each exercise.

It takes a while, but I do do a lot of chatting in between. I go in the AM so there aren't a lot of people there, and my neighbor and her kids are there too playing in the child care room, so we really make it fun for everyone (PS -- my 4 yo won't let me leave, she loves it there, so it motivates me to stay)
