As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

It's been a while
Hello ladies,
I apologize I have not been on in FOREVER!!! Things have been crazy busy around here. Our move to Birmingham fell through, but now we are moving to Tulsa, OK in a little over 3 weeks!!! DH has been out there a few times (his company is headquarterd there) for work and said it is really nice. I have never even been to any part of OK.
We found an apartment and are signing a 9 month lease to give us a chance to explore the area and decide on something more permanent (hopefully buy a house). I have never moved anywhere without checking out the apartment/community first, so this will be interesting. The first time either of us sees the place will be the day before Thanksgiving when we sign the lease and get the keys.
I don't have a job lined up yet, I need to start looking more seriously so I can start work ASAP. DH will be making more money, and the cost of living is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than here, so that should help. I am excited about the move but nervous of the weather. I was born and raised in Miami, and I thought it was COLD last week in the mornings!!!! I hear Tulsa can have some harsh winters, and we will be up there just in time!
Sorry to all of you who sent me pm's regarding the furniture store that I never responded to. That was about the time I stopped signing on for awhile. As an update to that though, I did dispute the charge on AMEX, file a complaint with the BBB and contact the owner of the company. After that Hudson's Broyhill *gladly* refunded our money and cancelled the order. Now with this move, I am soooooooo glad we don't have a whole bunch of new furniture, so it all worked out anyways.
I will try to sign on a little more often but no promises, we have a VERY busy few weeks ahead!

Wow- that's exciting! I'm glad you got the furniture situation settled- what a mess. It's unfortunate that they didn't have the decency to deal with the issue properly, without you having to go through all those hoops.
