xp:Bachelorette party in hotel suite - food/snack options?

My sister and I are the only bridesmaids for our other sister's wedding.  For her bach party we reserved a 1200 sq ft hotel suite and we are planning on having drinks and snacks there and then head out later to bars/clubs.  There are 10 to 12 girls total attending.

The party starts at 7:00pm and we did not want to plan a restaurant dinner b/c 1) my sis and I could not afford to pick up that whole tab and 2) all guests have to spend money on hotel rooms so we are trying to keep their spending down.

What kind if food/snacks could I make ahead of time and transport to the hotel?  I will have to leave my house at 10:00am and travel 2 hours to location and then not be able to check in until 4:00pm.  I feel like this is a logistical nightmare and I need help!!

xp: I also posted this on the Entertaining Ideas board

  • Can you use a cooler for transport?  Does the hotel have a refrigerator in the room?  Is there a microwave?

This might help so we know what your restrictions are.

Can you use a cooler for transport?  YES

Does the hotel have a refrigerator in the room?  YES but a small dorm room size fridge

    Is there a microwave? NO

This might help so we know what your restrictions are.

  • just because you're hosting doesn't mean that you and the other person ahve to pay for everything. everyone showing up shoudl split the cost of anything for the bride-not just you 2.

if it were me i probably would ask the girls if they wanted to do dinner. between 12 people it cuts the tab down pretty quickly per person. sure-do some drinks and apps before dinner but go out for dinner! it doesn't ahvve to be someplace fancy or expensive-you get that many girls together to celebrate and yuo'll have a great time!!

  • What about ordering in & splitting between all the girls?  If I were going, I would not expect you to pay for my dinner.  By ordering in, you can all relax at the room, save money on enjoying drinks in vs. out.
  • I agree with asking the girls if they would like to go out to dinner. You could always have picky food in the hotel room before. Like veggies and dip, chips, etc. Having a whole dinner spread in a hotel without even a micro and then a night of drinking...that might get tricky! If you want to stay in and cheaper, maybe you could order pizzas or something?

I've made these cupcakes for a few bachelorette parties. They're always a hit!

I agree with this.  Also, depending how much people drink you will probably want them to have eaten or things can go downhill fast!

We asked a few girls about dinner and they said no.  Everyone is very spread out so the central location is Atlantic City and on a Saturday night the room rates are not cheap.

Your suggestion of ordering pizzas might be the way to go.  They are not "fancy" but I want to be able to offer something to eat.

    Your cupcakes look great!

Just incase it becomes an option again, you should consider Angelo's...the food is very good and it's reasonably priced.

Also consider subs from White House...they are AWESOME!

I will check out Angelo's and thank you for reminding me about White House!!  We can set up a hoagie tray and they are so good.

  • subs and pizzas sound like a great idea and it would take a TON of pressure off of you and sister to haul all of the food. maybe bring munchies and fruit and drinks btu the bulk of the food would be delivered. good luck :)

  • I'd choose a cheap but reasonable restaurant and split the cost among all the girls. With all that drinking you'll want a substantial dinner (at least I would!) and I'd be disappointed to see just snacks as the sustenance for the evening!

Isn't there an In 'n Out Burger in Vegas? That would be perfect ... and it's so cheap everyone can afford a 5 dollar meal.
