He was really persistent and I wasn't firm enough in really saying "no". It just kind of happened although looking back I am ashamed that I didn't stick up for my values more and recognize it was a huge red flag that he was pushing me.

Probably a month, although I dated one person for about two months and never slept with him in college. I waited so long with C (one month guy) because I couldn't decide if I was into him or not and I wasn't really sexually attracted to him. When I finally did sleep with him I realized that I really wasn't into him and I ended up regretting it.
Ummm, well when I was younger and more care-free, I slept with this random guy after knowing him for a day or 2.
Not my greatest of ideas.
And I didn't wait longer, because my long-term BF (who was my first) and I had just broken up and I was immature, trying to get back at him and the guy I slept with with a well build, extremely hot surfer. Seriously, he was HOT! Shew.
The longest I waited before sleeping with someone was the BF I mentioned above. I was his first and vice versa... we waited 7 months before sleeping together.
ETA: However, my long-term high school BF and I dated for almost 2 years and we didn't sleep together. I tried to get him to a couple of times, but he stuck to his guns and said, "no."

Ok if I'm going to be honest... I have only dated 3 people in my life, slept with 2 of them. One we slept together the night of our first date. The other one, we were already sleeping together when we started dating (and eventually married). They were all friends of mine prior to dating so that probably skews things.

We started off as friends, he was sort of dating my BFF at the time, but there was an immediate attraction between us. We decided to be friends. He and my BFF broke it off after a few dates and I didn't see him anymore. A few months later, I called him on a whim. We went out for several months until we finally did the deed. It SUCKED! A few weeks later he broke up with me. Ha!
Shortest amount of time was 3 dates with X. I got caught up in the moment and I regretted it later. I did not have a commitment from him of any kind and I am the type that really feels more comfortable when I know the other person is not sleeping with/dating other people while sleeping with me. I know this decision had nothing to do with why our marriage ended,it was kind of a bad start for me.
Longest was 1 year. That was with my first. We were both virgins and were not ready until that point in our relationship. I was/am glad we didn't rush cause I had a great first experience.

I went through a rebellious stage(for myself since I try to keep sex and marriage together) after my first divorce and slept with someone after getting together several times ( I honestly can't remember but probably after 8 dates.) And very much like Achase, I really didn't want to do it but was not firm enough to say no either as I was going through a very vulnerable time.

My high school BF, we dated 2 years and I never slept with him even though we had some amazing make-out sessions and he wanted to so bad but was very respectful of my choices. I waited because we really never had an appropriate place to do it since my parents were uber strict and I was so scared if they every found out. If I was honest, I wish I did it with him, he was the most caring and sensual person I've been with and expressed more love for me than my stbxh ever did. But the same time it was not meant to be.
Shortest, a few hours. With XH a day. I use to think that if you didn't sleep with a guy right away they would leave to look for something else. Once I matured a little and realized that if a guy truly is in to you they will wait however long it takes.
The longest a month or two. I was really strict on not rushing it only because I had waited all of a day before sleeping with XH and I was trying to do the opposite in every dept to make sure I didn't wind up with another one just like XH.

Actually dating? Once, I slept with someone after the second date and never went out with him again. I don't think we were actually "dating" though. I used to be more hung up on waiting, but now, since concerned about having a relationship, if I meet someone and am feeling the chemistry, I'll just go for it. Hangups be damned.

6 months. I should have known that the fact that I didn't want to sleep with them meant that I wasn't really that into them. I've had a few one nighters that never turned into serious relationships. I feel if you want a serious relationship you need to wait. I met a hottie who was much younger about 6 mos ago and slept with him the first night, but I knew it was a go no-where. We had about a month of seeing each other. It worked for us both.
