NCR: Anyone have any favorite Atlanta restaurants
I am going on a girls weekend in Atlanta in a few weeks.
Does anyone have any outstanding restaurants to recommend? We will definitely be eating out for at least one dinner, lunch and breakfast(or brunch).
Thanks.

^^ Sundial is beautiful!
Also, check out: Here To Serve Restaurants .. we've been to most of them but I really love Goldfish. Aja is great too.(It turns pretty "clubbish" on the weekends though around 10 I think...)

I love the food in ATL!!! My friend asked me about the places we went to on our last trip there. I will copy and paste below:
Of course. Although picking the BEST one is going to be hard. The Vortex is fun but nothing special as far as food goes. The novelty of it all is the main draw. Huge liquor and beer list if that is your thing though.
Canoe- This place is awesome, but extremely romantic. We ate outside and it was right next to the river and there were fireflys and humming birds floating/flying right next to the table. The food is great though. We got the salmon app (great) the rabbit with bacon ravioli, the pheasant (both were really great. The pheasant barely took the win over the rabbit). For dessert the winner was the popcorn sundae. It tasted just like buttery popcorn. It was amazing.
My favorite place was Local Three. It was really cool and understated. The wait staff were funny and friendly and the manager/chef came out to the table. It is all suppose to be local/farm to table. Some of it is not though but still so good. It had a great feeling in the place too. Wood tables, slate walls, incandescent lights really welcome. For app, we got the Notorious P.I.G. house cured meats there are six types. The star was the andouille. The melted Lardo with cracklin pieces not good. I have also heard the cheese plate is really good. Alex got the porchetta.. Pork loin wrapped in pork belly roasted until the skin crackles. He loved it. It tasted good but there is too much fat for my taste.
I got the short ribs with velvety mashed potatoes and these awesome mushrooms. I think I won with my dish here. So good and comforting. Pretty ordinary but done perfectly. Lindsay got the salmon with panzella salad. She really enjoyed it. The portion was pretty small though. The salmon was phenomenal quality though. Dessert Get the Snickers Bar. The end. It is amazing how much it takes like a Snickers.
I will skip JCT since you have been there. But the Shrimp and Grits Oh my Goodness. There is a fried soft boiled egg. It oozes into the grits. I could eat that dish everyday. There is this cured ham they serve with it. So good.
Sorry if this is too long. All the food was awesome. You would be happy with Canoe, Local Three, or JCT
Also, OK Cafe for breakfast (AWESOME) get the french toast it is fried. So freakin delicious.
Adventures of A Girl and Her Apron
Looks like you've already got quite a few recs but I'll add a couple from the bach-ette parties I've attended in ATL:
Marlow's Tavern - http://www.marlowstavern.com/ Low-key type place but the food I had was pretty good.
Shout - http://www.h2sr.com/shout/ This is the same Here to Serve restaurant group that one of the pp mentioned. We stayed at the W on this trip and Shout is just around the corner on Peachtree so we were able to walk, which was nice.
I love this post! I'm getting new ideas.
Of the others mentioned that I have been to, I agree with Two Urban Licks and Shout.
A good friend raved about Canoe as well after her anniversary dinner so I've always thought I'd go with DH as opposed to a girl's outing. It's supposed to be very scenic and romantic....
Honestly, you have so many/too many choices! I love Atlanta restaurant life.

You have already gotten a ton of great suggestions. I do think the Sundial is a lot of fun, but it doesn't have the best food IMO. It is fine, but if it were me, I would probably go for drinks and then have dinner somewhere else.
We loved Local Three when we went. The owners also own Muss & Turner's, which is great too.
We went to Empire State south for brunch last weekend, and it was awesome. I'm hoping to go for dinner soon. Hugh Acheson from Top Chef owns it.
Abbatoir is supposed to be great, but I've never been.
Same with Rosebud.
Both Twist and Shout (sister restaurants) are fun - they would be especially good for girls' night because they have lots of good apps and fun drinks.
For brunch/breakfast, West Egg Cafe, Empire State South, Flying Biscuit.
