Thank you for your advice! Before/After PIPs
A few weeks ago I posted asking about my textured trim (and here) in my living room. I cannot thank you girls enough for giving me the push I needed to suck it up and paint it! It looks amazing. I am thrilled with the transformation! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
(There are more pictures in my blog if anyone is interested www.hangingwiththehockenberrys.blogspot.com. Don't get excited - this is my only decorating related post. The rest is all family/baby/pregnancy and the only people who read it are my parents.

wow, you have some high ceilings! nice!! and the new paint and trim color looks great!! the room feels so light and airy!
and your dog is really cute. :-)
That is so much better, great job!
And ditto the high ceilings, that's nice.
Thank you both! I'm so excited not to be living in an orange house anymore!
The high ceilings are great for the space in the room, but that wall behind the couch is going to be a pain to decorate. It's like a landscape back there.

Just because you have a large, high wall, don't feel like you have to decorate every inch of space. Sometimes people concentrate too much on decorating high because they can, and it makes the room feel closed in instead of feeling open and airy, or it seems disconnected from the furniture..
It looks really nice now....I'm glad that you let everyone give you that nudge.
Thanks everyone! I'm still so excited about it!
I was SO nervous about painting the trim, especially since we didn't know how well the paint would cover the texture, but I'm glad I listened to the advice I got and did it. I know I wouldn't be happy if it were still that awful orange-brown color.
