WDYT of this twin bed? PIP
Two of the walls in the boys' bedroom has wainscot. I was planning on putting a stained waterfall style dresser and desk in there so there is already a lot of wood tone. This is the best pic I have of the room:

My first choice would be an iron bed or painted beds to break it up. I am going to keep the red, white, and blue baseball theme. I have this bedding and bought an extra 1 for DS2 when he graduates to a big boy bed.
I just found this bed online, what do you think? It comes in either blue or red. I think the red might be cute since it would give more contrast to the blue bedspread.

If I'm going to go neutral, I'd rather go with a metal finish. I just think a color would be more fun.
I'm with you...a color is more fun and more interesting. Red is actually pretty versatile, but the bed could always be painted in the future, if you wanted to change the color.
We have had an iron headboard/bed frame (family heirloom, and it is the only bed frame that DH and I have every used) for the past 34 years. It has been painted no less than five times in the past 34 years, and is currently a blackish plum color.
I'm way late but I just wanted to say that I agree with this poster. If you love the red right now go for it, it is fun! Iron beds are definitely easy to paint, we have an antique one that we painted when we got it and the lady who had it before us had painted it at least once too.
