Holy.
My SIL (Not the BSC one. The one who is awesome and amazing) sent me all her baby/toddler clothes for Cube.
She is one of the most fun/hardestworking/down to earth people I know, but organization and housekeeping is not her forte. At all.
So everything she sent me was a huge disorganized jumbled mess. I spent all afternoon washing, sorting, organizing.
Let's just say the woman had twins. There are clothes coming out my ears.
Sad part is...the clothes are cute but Cube isn't growing! She's been in 6-9 months since Christmas and isn't growing out of the 9 month stuff anytime soon. The child is outfitted until college.
And that was after I threw a bunch of stuff in the donate pile that was ugly/outdated/worn out/whatever.
I do have a couple pregnant friends that will take the younger stuff off my hands for awhile. I don't care if it ever comes back at this point...lol.
I'm excited though...I was just wondering where I should get Cube an Easter Dress. I don't have to wonder anymore..I have 3 now.
Re: I have 5 30 gallon totes of clothes in my kitchen!
That is awesome, even if you had to sort through it all.
I wish I had family that was going to give me kid stuff. I am jealous of all that.

It is awesome. I have bought Cube exactly 2 outfits in 8 months. (Her baptism dress and a dress for a friend's wedding). I've also bought very little babystuff of my own (stroller, carseats, humidifer and bottle covers and that's all).
I'm lucky..and I feel good that I can reuse this stuff and pass it on guilt free when I'm done.
My SIL is so nice too..she doesn't expect it back or care what I do with it. Unless it's something big I don't have time to remember where it came from to send it back.
It was a good thing I had to sort through it all. SIL saves everything and some of her stuff is handmedowns of handmedowns. With that many clothes and options there no sense in saving anything I don't even remotely like.
This way I could do it on my own time, get rid of stuff guilt free and organize my own way.
SIL doesn't care what I do with it either so that's nice.
My large family can drive me nuts some weeks..but it's great for the handmedowns.
I buy more stuff now because the handmedowns are pretty worn out. 2 year olds are hard on their clothes, but it is fun!
I got HOOKED up with baby stuff too. Crib, changing table, swing, etc. all from my sister, then people were ridiculously generous at my shower.
We bought her a dresser but ILs went 1/2s on it, but honestly, I can't think of another big thing we have had to buy. Her rug? ha!

That is lame! WTH is she doing with it all and why doesn't she want to share?
Weird. Then again, the faster I get stuff out my house the happier I am. I'm also not sentimental.
Even if she's saving it for the next kid, pick out what you really want/the faves and pass the rest on. I have friends that want some of my clothes. I'll give one friend anything because she'll hand it back. The others, I just pick what I don't care about. I'm not about to tell anyone to send clothes back to me. No one has the time or energy to remember that!
Clothes are a dime a dozen and people love to buy them...it's not like there's a shortage!
(And yes, I know, I know, I know. Nobody has to share and some people are sentimental buy why not share?)
She is done having kids!!! And complains about the totes of clothes in her basement! Her bro is having boy#3 and other bro is a bachelor. It's okay bc at this age I think our kids wear much different styles. I prefer kid-looking clothes to teenage-looking clothes in kid sizes:)
These two statements are totally contradictory.
. My SIL had a boy and we haven't passed along any of DS's clothes, precisely because it's too hard to remember where you got what and we wanted to make sure we got everything back. And sure enough, kid #2 is another boy and we're all set.
Side note, worst story ever about sharing - someone on my birth month board loaned her sibling a crib, carseat, swing, etc to help them out because they were really strapped for cash. She got pregnant again and asked for it back and they nonchalantly said "oh yeah, we needed some cash for Christmas presents so we sold it all on Craigslist.". OMG, who does that?!
