Recommend your mattress, please!

DH and I currently have a full sized bed and are looking to upgrade to a queen.  DH likes a really firm mattress.  Our current one is still in good shape, but he thinks it's too soft and occasionally sleeps on the floor b/c his back hurts.  We thought about a sleep number bed, but honestly the firmness doesn't matter to me so we'll go with a firmer mattress for him.  We want something that's going to last a long time.  TIA!!

  • We have a Corsicana mattress very similar to the Serta iComfort (it's an off brand of the Serta, but 1/3 the price for a king).  It's been great. We spent all day shopping at 4 different stores, and we finally decided on the memory foam one.  It's firm, yet soft.  Kind of hard to explain.  You really have to experience it.  I would go to mattress stores, and spend a lot of time trying them all out.  It's really the only way to find what YOU like.

  • I am a Tempur-Pedic devotee.  They're supposed to last like 20 years, and I can tell you that after 6+ years of owning ours, it's the same as the day we bought it.  It was worth every penny.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Another Tempurpedic fan here, we LOVE ours!  It did take both of us about a month to "adjust" to the mattress but now we wouldn't trade it for anything.

  • We just bought a Simmons Beauty Rest w/Pillow top (your DH probably wouldn't like that feature).  It was about $2000 for a king.  I like Tempurpedic but they are pricey!
  • I would not recommend Kingsdown. We bought one 5 years ago from Sleepy's and I can't wait to replace it. It has not worn well, but nothing bad enough to make a warranty claim.

We have the Enso Sky King.  I can't even begin to describe how much I LOVE,LOVE, LOVE this mattress. Some of the best money we've ever spent.  I didn't know how much difference a mattress could make.  It's a memory foam style and less than 1/2 the price of Tempurpedic.  Enso is a pretty green company, and the mattress has a 10 year full warranty and either 15 or 20 year full, I can't remember.

As for firmness it's firm but soft if that makes any sense.  Super supportive but super comfortable.  YesYes Two big thumbs up from me.  Embarrassed Yes I'm a little googly over a mattress but I love it that much.
