Window treatment question
I just bought plain white linen panels for my two windows in the great room. Currently they have silver metal mini blinds (hello, 1995) that I hate. The two options I am considering are 2" faux wood blinds ( the ones TH&R recommends) or make roman shades with the mini blinds. Which means I would need to pick fabric. Would a patterned fabric look odd as the bottom layer in a window?
Or I suppose I could do bamboo blinds, but they don't give as much flexibility for privacy & light control. Help!
Re: Window treatment question
Ha
I think whether a fabric would look right depends on the sheerness of the linen panels and how bold of a pattern you're thinking of. I think this will be something you have to try at home IRL.
FWIW, here's bamboo under white sheers from our last house. I loved the look, but you're right that there's not much privacy.
