Window Treatment advice (PIP)

I am clueless when it comes to window treatments.  What type of winow treatments/color would you recommend for this room?  The wal color is restrained gold by Sherwin Williams.   We don't have furniture yet.   But want to get coverings on the windows first.

thanks!

Re: Window Treatment advice (PIP)

  • Personally I'm a fan of white 2" (faux) wood blinds combined with some pretty panels.  Like this (only I'd use a prettier colored curtain):

The blinds are practical in that you can vary the amount of light/privacy you want and the curtains soften up the whole look.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Thanks.  Would you recommend 2 panels on each window?  Or just one that can then tie back to one side?
  • I'd do 2 panels since you have the same amount of wall on each side of the window.  If the one side went right onto the fireplace I'd probably just do the outside, but your space is very symmetrical.

This is my standard window treatment scheme as well.  I think two per window with those windows.

  • If you can afford shutters, I definitely recommend those! Silhouettes from Hunter Douglas are also an elegant option, depending on your furniture (if you're buying from Rooms To Go, dont bother with nice window treatments!)
  • You could do textured sheers  or

Lined panels on rings (One panel on each window drawn to the side away from the fireplace. Rings make them easy to quickly close should you want)

Color - you need to decide on a color palate for this room and adjoining rooms. You want the house to flow (use the same colors, for rooms open to each other, but in different proportions, intensities.

Unnecessarily harsh.  You're pretty new to be so snarky.
