I have been using pinterest to organize all my online recipes. I just counted and I have 97 boards! Granted, not all of them are cooking-related, but about 90% are.

My boards are labeled- apps, beef, chicken, casserole, shrimp, etc

What categories do you have that are cooking-related? Clearly, I need to consolidate my boards!

eta: Are you able to create a board within a board? For instance, have a "master" board labeled Cooking, and then put all cooking boards (ex: apps, beef, chicken, etc) inside the master board?

  • I have very generalized cooking boards.  i have a dessert board, main dish board, side dish, veggie, appetizers, breads, breakfasts, soup, crock-pot, and different holiday ones.

  • I have all my boards separated by cooking category - cookies, bars, and brownies; balls, barks, and bites; frozen treats, desserts, pork and beef, chicken, pasta, dressing and sauces, bread, fun snacks (mainly for DS), other dinner ideas.  I don't think you can do sub boards though.
  • A few times I have tried -note: tried - to go back to something and It wasn't there anymore. So if I try something or want to try something, I make a copy so I don't have to wonder if it will be there when I want it or be gone. I would definitely not put all my trust in with no way to back it or guarantee the original poster. What would happen if your most favorites shut down their blog.
  • I LOVE Pinterest! Its sooo fun :)

I have a few boards for cooking: Food!, Treats!, Drinks!, Fall Favorites, Winter Fun, and The Future. It might sound confusing, but here is how I organize things:

The one called Food is a mixture of sides, main dishes and generally savory things. Treats is desserts and sweet breakfast foods. Drinks is any kind of drink- lemonade, smoothies, alcoholic, etc. And then these last ones are mixtures of food pins and decor and stuff... Fall favorites is stuff like candy apples, Halloween/Thanksgiving food, etc. Winter Fun is Christmas/New Years/Valentines Day stuff. The Future has cute ideas/recipes for things I want to do in the future- like recipes for a baby's first birthday (when I actually do have babies lol).

I do it this way so I don't have a million boards- I've already got a total of 14 and its somewhat overwhelming if I don't have them condensed!

  • I need to reorganize my boards!  Right now I just have my general food board, and a drink board.
  • Recipes:  Naughty

    Recipes:  Nice (healthy)

    Sweet Tooth

Inspiration:  Food Edition (I pin things like presentation, themed foods, etc. here)

My Kitschy Kitchen:  Unique cooking gadgets, functional decor (like food/dish/cookware storage that looks cool too), anything I want in my kitchen that's not an actual recipe.

I need to add a drink board, and I'm thinking of seasonal boards instead of holiday boards, which I have right now but they're really disorganized.

Edit:  Oh, and "Cooking for Kids"
