85 degrees. Began planting my annuals yesterday.

I can't believe how warm it was this week. The nurseries are definitely not prepared; the flower selection is limited. I went to four different places before I found enough stuff to put together my boxes and troughs.

We better not get a late frost now!

This is the only thing keeping me from putting my boxes together. In Michigan (with lake effect weather) it's not uncommon to get snow the day after it's 65 and sunny in the spring.... so I wait.... and my empty boxes taunt me :(

I am in Maryland so the likelihood of frost at this point is small but still very possible. I also need to clean out my beds and cut back my perrenials. I just hope it's not too late with this crazy early spring. But for now I am chained to my work laptop and I am out of coffee. Sads.

I was caught totally unprepared.  I still need to make my raised beds for my garden, and now it looks like the timeline to plant it has moved up!  We're scrambling to get it done this weekend.

  • What did you plant?
  • Sounds like fun!  I'm a little sad I won't be able to do it this year, but next year for sure!

  • I'm in CO and today is a mid-70's day. This past week has been gorgeous. I know better though. Winter isn't done with us yet.

  • Its snowed here randomly during the middle of the day, about three days ago. So I'm staring at my garden boxes and pots wishing for warmer weather. I'm so jealous!

Mostly geraniums. That's primarily all that's out there. I managed to find some Calibrachoa, Lantana, and Bacopa, but many of my usual faves are simply not available yet. Got a yellow hibiscus for out on the deck.

  • I planted our garden this week. Already have spaghetti squash and spinach and tomatoes growing. We also seeded the front yard last weekend. Already have chives and oregano ready.
