New runner- how to determine how long (distance) you've run?
I am just starting running. I have the C25k app on my phone and listen to muci while I run. Are there any apps (or even a gaget) that will let me know how long (distance-wise) I've run?
Re: New runner- how to determine how long (distance) you've run?
yes, i have a pedometer watch that tracks my distance.
i also use mapmyrun.com

I google mapped the distance from the corner of my street to the next corner. It's 1.3 km, then I drove it to double check.
With that, I'm able to do a pretty good estimate of my distance.
But in all honesty, I'm such a beginner that knowing if I ran 3km or 3.2 is not a biggie. When I need more accuracy, I'll look into an app or something else.
I use the nikeplus app on my ipod touch.
I used to just keep track of landmarks on the road and then used mapmyrun.com to trace the route when I was done.
