Did you have your rugs cleaned before moving?

We will be closing next month and I'm wondering if I should move some furniture now so I can take the rugs in now for a cleaning.  I was thinking then they'd be ready so I can have them in place for the movers to place furniture on in the new house.

What do you think? Not worth the effort?

When was the last time they were cleaned?  The most recent dealer we talked to recommended having our wool rugs washed every 5 years or so.  If mine were anywhere near due (like hadn't been cleaned in the previous year), I'd definitely use this opportunity to save some effort.  I'd either wait until the movers got all the furniture, then roll them up and send them in (meaning I'd have to put them under the furniture in the new place) or get them out now and be sure to have them down before the movers get to the new place.  Cleaning them after the movers get your stuff in the current place might be easier for timing.  Either way, you're saving yourself half the work, as long as the rugs are back in time under your current plan.
