It only took 5 hours

But I have my signed Pioneer Woman cookbook! We drove a little over 3 hours to VA Beach, got in line at 1:30, got all our books signed at 6:30, got a few pictures, stopped at cracker barrel for dinner and I'm finally home.

It was a long day but she was wonderful, sweet, and beautiful.

  • That's awesome, I love her!  What was she like in person?  I really enjoy her blog and I love Charlie.

  • She was wonderful.  100% what I would have imagined her like from her blog, not uncomfortable how she seems on her show and tv interviews.

Anyone that was out of town she told them that they NEEDED to go out to dinner ;) She also forced my mom to take a picture with her, my mom is not a fan of pictures and was there to get a book for my SIL lol :)

  • That sounds like me when one of my authors is. In town! Only I'm STARTING the line because I'm obsessive lol. You know it's bad when last time my favorite author was impressed by me for arriving at 2:30 for a 7:00 reading/signing. Yeah... The next person wasn't there til 4. *blush* Glad you had fun!!
  • It was a three hour drive and I had to work last night ;) We got there an hour early but they sold 300 cut the line passes to the locals.  People were coming in at 3pm and being able to jump in front of the 600+ people that had been waiting.  I wasn't exactly pleased about that, but that's not PW's fault, thats Books-a-Millions fault.

That is really messed up to let people wait for hours like that only to be cut in front of!

My boss knows I'm off early the days my authors are in town lol. There are currently four that I will drop everything to go see, but they aren't here very often. In the past three years I've been to 5 signings.

We just laid off 50% of our staff so outside of my already scheduled memorial day vacation, I pretty much can't take off because our company of 7 became 3.

That sucks!! I'm supposed to work part time but I spent 9 months full time, sometimes 9 hour days, due to staff shortages. Im glad we are full staffed again so I'm back to my 25/30 hr weeks! I hope things get better for you!
