Boston Terrier vs. French Bulldog
What are the pros & cons of both? I'd like advice from someone who has both or one. I'm moving in with my mom and she already has 2 labs (black & tan) and I myself would love to have one of the above. She has a house with a huge backyard. In addition I live in the NY Westchester/Hudson Valley area if you could suggest a place that carries these little cuties. Thanks

Re: Boston Terrier vs. French Bulldog
I think both breeds can have their share of health issues, but I think French Bulldogs in particular can be prone to respiratory issues, skin issues and other health concerns. Every Boston I have met has been pretty high energy and many I consider to be BSC. Doesn't make them bad dogs, but it does mean that you would have to make sure they are getting tons of mental stimulation and physical exercise every day. Of course every dog is going to be different.
I would recommend starting with petfinder because many dogs are available for adoption and you might be able to find out more information about a particular dog and if it would be a good match for your lifestyle. If you would like to go through a breeder there is a FAQ section at the top of the page about how to identify a reputable breeder.
Pet stores are NEVER the way to go for many reasons. These dogs are not properly socialized, do not come from legit breeders, do not get proper health screening, are more difficult to train (due to how they are taught to eliminate in their own crates) and purchasing them supports extremely unethical breeding practices (puppy mills of varying scales). NO reputable breeder would ever allow their dogs to be sold in a pet store.
If you have more questions about a particular breeder there are ladies on this board that I'm sure would be willing to give you feedback.Additionally I think there is great information about training in the FAQ at the top of the page.
To make you feel my love.
