Patio costs?

We are considering making a patio area and want to do it very economically. I don't think a deck will work in this spot. I don't think I want poured concrete.  Does anyone know if it would be cheaper to put in the most basic of paver patio vs just installing a gravel area? I heard pea gravel just caught in your shoes and tracks into the house, so I was thinking a little larger gravel. We are also thinking of continuing the gravel in a path to connect the driveway to the back door and adjacent sitting area. TIA.

Re: Patio costs?

  • we are doing building a gravel patio this weekend.  For a 15 x 20 it's going to be under $500.

We are getting 12x12 slate pavers and placing them in a checker pattern over the gravel, as the gravel settles everything will level out.
