I notice on here a lot of people talking about is this "in or out". I love looking at trends and some are really cute. But I cannot get on the wagon. I have never follwed a trend. I dress on the conservative side and I wear classic jewlery. Anyone else not on any trend wagon? What trends of right now are an absolute must.. I would love to see them.. maybe I should get on the trend wagon and just dont know where to get on. HELP ME OUT

Re: trends am I the only one
the trends i like right now...
-color! specifically pink, orange, blue, and green. i recently purchased pink skinny jeans and am on the hunt for green ones. i also plan on purchasing some turquois or coral colored sandals. i'd love a bright colored handbag, too.
-nautical - i really want a navy blazer, khaki colored pants and skirt, blue and white stripe shirts, etc.
- shoes that are multi-colored (or color blocking) - strap is one color, heel is another color, and the rest of the shoe is a third color.
I'm so not a trend-follower, preferring classics to trends. But I do love stripes which are very trendy right now.
I can't stand the super bright colored jeans/pants trend. I will be sticking to the classics - boring maybe but I do not look right in red or hot pink pants (or any other bright colors).
The hot colors are tangerine and cobalt mixed with tans and camels.
As PP mentioned, color blocking and nautical themes are another hot trend.
The hot colors, color blocking and nautical themes would easily mix in with a classic conservative wardrobe.
Unless you belong to a religion that doesn't allow you to wear mainstream clothing or you wear a potato sack every day, you follow trends. Where does your hemline fall? What cut and color are your jeans: pleated, tight-rolled acid wash? No, they're probably something dark. Are your shoes clunky, square-toes with low heels? No.
"Trendy" doesn't need to be a dirty word. Sure, it can mean cheap or ill-advised lol, but it doesn't have to. I'm an Ann Taylor, Banana Republic girl all the way and they're on-trend and current without being tacky or immature or inappropriate. IMO, this board has a very young tone to it. Many of the posters are espousing styles I think best reserved for college sophomores, not a 30 year old woman with a career. But hey, I just ignore those posts and read/answer posts that interest me.
It if helps, think of this in D&R terms. You know all those girls on D&R declaring that XYZ will "never go out of style" and that it's "classic" and how I argue with them every time? My point to them is always that it's "classic" for right now - the best you can do in D&R is last 10-15 years. Fashion's the same way - the item is "classic" for right now. The cut of things changes over the seasons, the styling changes.
So unless you're wearing a potato sack or a burqa or haven't bought clothes since 1997, you are following trends. You don't need to go buy a pair of Uggs or a rose gold watch or a neon pink top - I certainly am wearing none of those and I get compliments on my wardrobe almost every day of the week.

I tend to be very classic when it comes to my work attire but I love a few different things for my personal life. I am not into trends because they are "trendy" I will pick up things because they look good on me and my body type and fit into my style.
I hate people that wear things just becuase they are trendy even though they may not be flattering or looks silly.
