BB creams?

Not the Garnier one - has anyone tried the more upscale BB creams, like the one from Clinique (I saw it in Sephora this weekend), Estee Lauder, or a few other companies?  I know Sulwahsoo has one but I can't find it on their website yet.

Re: BB creams?

  • I tried too faceds one this weekend and I hated it. I'm taking it back this week.... Made my face shiny and oily!

  • Here's Real Simple's link to some options.  I want to try the Stila one since they claim it reduces redness.

  • this is not marketed as a BB cream, but i think it is pretty much the same.

it's the miracle skin transformer. i think it has been around for a while. it's a tinted primer/moisturizer w/ sunscreen. i really like it and think it gives better coverage than the garnier that i tried.

  • I got a sample of one from Smashbox from Sephora...it's okay. Not something I'd buy on my own.

    Oh, this one looks interesting!

  • I keep hearing about BB creams but I am not sure I really understand them. Is it supposed to replace your foundation?
  • I was out of my regular foundation and also needed sunscreen, my SA suggested I try Dior's BB Cream, it is tested on Asian skin as the product info in the box says, and she claimed it's the same formula as marketed in Asia.  I have been using it for 3 weeks now, the tint is a perfect match for my skin, and overall my skin looks very good. The first week, my skin was a little dryer than normal, so I had to put on a little more moisturizer than usual, not a whole lot more, just a tad.

I do have two dark spots on my right cheek that were getting bigger and connecting to become one big one, I just noticed yesterday that they are a little smaller, also during the first week of use, it looked like it was getting dry and almost shedding skin, just over the dark spot.

The tube is very small, but a little bit of product goes a long way.

  • TX-Bride, thanks for your review.  Was the one that was for Asian skin the DiorSnow line or the HydraLife?
  • I use the Boscia B.B. cream and I love it!  It's supposedly a universal shade that "adjusts", but I can only account for it matching my own skin tone (Asian with olive skin tone).  It's not too thick and gives great coverage.

    Your welcome.

  • I know you said not the Garnier one, but I did just buy it and I am really liking it. My skin is an uneven mess, but I feel like it provides great coverage without feeling all mask-like.  It is also has been a huge timesaver.  It goes on so much smoother than my foundation. Anyway, I just thought I'd give my review : )

I'm actually liking this one. I don't know tha a BB cream is something I'd use that much, so I was thinking of trying the garner one.

  • Not exactly sure what a BB cream is, but anyone try Origins Vitazing? I absolutely love it! It's a moisturizer that matches any skin tone and gives the perfect amount of coverage and glow.  I use that alone on the weekends with a little blush and am good to go.  On weekdays, I add a little powder on top for more coverage.

Ditto all of this.  And a little bit goes a long way!  My skin looks great, it's really light and such a time saver.  I'm sold.

I agree with this also.  Although the scent is a little much but it goes away quickly.

  • I've been using a Missha one and really like it.  Sadly, I think the shades are fairly limited, but it works for me.

I'm actually wearing the Garnier one today and like it as well. Not as much coverage as the Missha one, but not awful.

  • I asked at Nordstrom this weekend and they recommended the DiorSnow one. For $50 I want to love it, but so far I don't. It makes my face super blotchy and greasy! FWIW, I've always used this from Aveda with Origins skincare underneath and liked that combo.

  • I've been using the Smashbox one for a while and really like it.  It's nice for days when I don't want a full face of make-up, but want to even out my skintone.  I like that it has a sunscreen in it so I don't have to apply a bunch of different products.  It's my weekend-running errands foundation.

  • I have fair skin and even the light Boscia cream was too dark for me.  It also had shimmer which I didn't like.  I also tried Clinique and theirs was too light.  It could just be a personal issue because of my fair skin, but I have been turned off from trying others because of this.
